Carter Looney is a seasoned entrepreneur and operator-investor with over 25 years of experience buying, growing, and exiting businesses across various industries. Following a successful company exit in 2010, he shifted his focus to advising and investing in mid-market enterprises seeking transformation and scale.

Carter’s experience spans private equity, M&A advisory, and hands-on company leadership. He has closed dozens of deals and served as a CEO and CFO in multiple companies, giving him deep insight into what it takes to scale a business and achieve a successful exit. As an independent adviser, Carter supports Meritage Partners clients with practical operator perspective and transaction guidance throughout the M&A process.

Born and raised in rural Arizona, with German roots, Carter and his family split their time between the U.S. and Europe.
