NEWPORT BEACH, CA – Meritage Partners, Inc. (“Meritage Partners”), a leading, boutique, middle-market mergers and acquisitions advisory, is pleased to announce the successful sale of RCE Consultants (“RCE”) to Chicago-based RTM Engineering Consultants (“RTM”). The transaction closed on December 1, 2020.
“We are impressed by the growth that RTM has achieved over the last 39 years and look forward to partnering with them in this next chapter of their development,” said RCE President, Rich Clark. “With our combined resources moving forward, we will be able to take on new and challenging projects, while also growing and developing our team internally.”
The deal will give RTM its third California office, joining previous Golden State locations in Palm Desert and Newport Beach. Prior to the acquisition, RTM had a dozen offices across Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, California, and Washington.
RTM’s acquisition of RCE will broaden the firm’s civil engineering capabilities, as well as increase its presence in California, according to RTM CEO Tony Mirchandani. “The RCE team will not only bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to RTM, but they are a perfect fit culturally,” he added.
Tony Mirchandani concludes, “Meritage was instrumental in balancing out the buyer’s and seller’s best interests, while allowing them to build a personal relationship in order to have a successful transaction”.
Meritage Partners was retained as RCE’s exclusive M&A advisor and investment banker. The transaction was led by Brian T. Franco, Founder and Managing Partner.
