Newport Beach, CA, September 22, 2017 – Meritage Partners is pleased to announce that its client Hope Amundson, Inc. (“HA” or “The Company”), a leading San Diego based structural engineering firm, has signed a letter of intent pursuant to which it will merge with Coffman Engineers, Inc. (“CEI”).

HA is a full-service structural engineering firm with clients throughout Southern California as well as other western states. The Company has 33 employees and a deep bench of licensed engineers located in offices in San Diego and Newport Beach, California. HA performs earthquake engineering, peer reviews, design-build engineering, value engineering, due diligence reports, feasibility studies, seismic retrofits and seismic certifications across a wide variety of markets.

CEI is a multidisciplinary engineering firm founded 38 years ago and headquartered in Seattle. The firm has a strong presence along the west coast, the Pacific Rim and a growing presence on the east coast. CEI’s offices are located in Anchorage, Bozeman, D.C. Metro, Guam, Honolulu, Hood River, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Diego, Seattle, and Spokane. The firm provides a wide range of services including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, process piping, instrumentation and controls, corrosion control engineering, project management, commissioning and land survey services. CEI will have 470 employees companywide post-merger.

Meritage Partners was engaged to position HA for a merger, identify and qualify strategic investors, and act as an M&A consultant. The transaction is set to close on November 1st; terms were not disclosed.
